"It's the Way We Live Now"

"It's important to remember that feminism is no longer a group of organizations or leaders. It's the expectations that parents have for their daughters, and their sons, too. It's the way we talk about and treat one another. It's who makes the money and who makes the compromises and who makes the dinner. It's a state of mind. It's the way we live now."

Such true words. That very nicely sums up my feelings. :D

Yeah, it's one of those words that have gotten abused in medioritic mainstream coverage.

The concept of 'feminism' originated with the concept of equality of gender rights. Now that we're (at least some countries) living in an almost gender equal world, this concept is losing its meaning.

Such definitions, that try to make it a part and parcel of our daily lives, do a great benefit to the goal of gender equality.

I really like the concept of a partnership society as outlined by Riane Eisler in "The Chalice and the Blade: Our History, Our Future." It really is an excellent book addressing the need for gender equality.
