What's Happening to the Right?

Here are the "issues" I've been hearing the Right Wing froth about on blogs and radio this past ten days or so:

1) The MoveOn ad that called General Petraeus, "General Betray Us".

2) Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's desire to visit Ground Zero.

3) Hillary's sweep of the Sunday talk shows.

4) Dan Rather's law suit against CBS.

Yup. That's what the Right has most focused on, near as I can see. Which seems to raise the question: Has the Right gone bonkers? What kind of issues are those?

Does anyone know why the Right considers those issues so important?

They're the issues guaranteed to making conservatives mad. Making an enemy out of someone gives them common ground in hate; unity in reviling your enemy.

Maybe they think it's better to attack than debate... Crap! That's about all of politics aint it?

They don't, which is precisely why they're making so much noise about them. They don't want people talking about important issues - that's where their weaknesses are. And yes, they are also guaranteed to enrage the stereotypical 'Joe Sixpack'.

I guess you could call them "hot-button non-issues".

Tiny simplistic, irrelevant minds, tiny simplistic, irrelevant issues.

On a related note, have you seen this open letter from Iranian university chancellors?

I'm curious about points 9 and 10:

<<
9- Why did the US oppose the plan for a Middle East free of unconventional weapons in the recent session of the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors despite the fact the move won the support of all members other than Israel?

10- Why is the US displeased with Iran's agreement with the IAEA and why does it openly oppose any progress in talks between Iran and the agency to resolve the nuclear issue under international law?
>>

Do you know anything about these negotiations? If the U.S. is planning to attack Iran because of Iran's nuclear program, it seems like the diplomatic situation should be more in the news.

Stopping by from Mahendrap's blog and her Intellectual Blogger Award. Read back through some posts, I think I'll put your blog in my sidebar.

The general news media has been duped into thinking this way by the left-leaning thought leaders, most of which were educated in the 60s and 70s with the popularity of Saul Alinsky and his 10-point program for protest.

It's interesting that Madam Hillary wrote her university thesis on Saul Alinsky, and his techniques are used extensively by Democratic political leaders, as well as minority and labor leaders.

These are not issues, these are just distractions to the general public to try to get us to look else where.

Diversions from the real problems they caused and cannot rectify. Simple smoke and mirrors, petty misdirection. Ever see Wag the Dog?
