Mahendra's Tribute to the Victims of 9/11

Today is the anniversary of 9/11. I wondered for sometime what would be appropriate to post in tribute to the lives lost that day, but I could think of nothing adequate. Then this morning Mahendra posted an extensive quote from Carl Sagan that is far more appropriate than anything else I can think of. Please drop by An Unquiet Mind and read it here. It is as if Sagan spoke for the ages when he spoke the words you will find there. Thank you, Mahendra.

Paul, I am deeply humbled by your graciousness. Thank you. But in a way, this is not a day to indulge in thanking each other but standing together in defiance of everything that's going wrong with the world.

I could not think of anything else that was more appropriate. You've described it so perfectly - Carl Sagan spoke for the ages...

Sometimes emotions about 9/11 engulf me. I'll stop here.

Mahendra, I hope you will not be offended if I tell you that you are a beautiful soul.

I so agree with you: We must all of us stand together in defiance of everything that's going wrong with the world.

Thanks for posting that link Paul.

Reading it just made me think, we could really use another Carl Sagan...

Paul, I'm not offended at all as this is a very profound compliment, and I'm flattered. I'm also lucky to have found intelligent sensitive friends like you.

However, I must point out as I've done elsewhere before, that I only write, while there are other much greater human beings who are not writing but actually doing something about it.
