When Belief Counts

Experience matters more than belief to both the mystic and the scientist, but to the priest -- he thinks he's accomplished something when he believes in God.

Yes, good point, Paul. It's not the symbol that matters, it's the experience to which the symbol is supposed to point that matters.

I agree, Brendan. What is it in human nature that so often leads us to confuse the finger pointing to the moon with the moon itself? I suspect we would need a psychologist or a neuroscientist to answer that one.
