Addict or Prude?
Although many Americans approach sex in the spirit of moderation, American popular culture does not. In the popular culture, it's all or nothing. Addict or prude. Both extremes are merely obsessive.
I agree, although it is not a phenomena restricted to the US. In many social stratas, there is no concept of a middle ground between addict or prude-be it about sex, drugs, or alcohol.
