Near to Home
The above photo was taken in the late afternoon at a park close to where I live in Colorado.
Wow. It reminds me of an episode in Startrek where the crew beams down and looks around, amazed by the seemingly incongruent mix of natural formations.
Hey, Paul...want to have coffee next time I'm in Colorado? Man, I miss having GotG as my backyard; lived for several years in the condos on the mesa just east of it, toward the south.
I'm only half-joking, though. It's always wonderful to find free-thinking folk back in the land of the fundiegelicals, and I'll be in Monument at Thanksgiving.
Hi Alli! Welcome to the blog! I'm kind of ambivalent about living in this beautiful, God drunk city. On the one hand, I have close, wonderful friends here, the town is within easy reach of wilderness, and the crime rate is low. On the other hand, the local fundies are as numerous as ants, as crazed as lunatics, and as likely to drench themselves in their God as a street prostitute is to drench herself in cheap perfume. Colorado Springs gives me very mixed feelings at times.
Coffee sounds like fun, though! Maybe you could email me.
I wish I was close to scenery like that... The Midwest is pretty darn flat.
