Hymn To the Creator
The way my day Is going I just know The next thing That'll happen --
I'll stumble across Some damn conclusive proof
That this messed up world Really was created by a Petty Codependent Deity
Jiddu Krishnamurti used to say, "A petty mind can conceive only of a petty god." There are many bits of evidence that suggest the various deities are human creations, but I think one of the more telling bits is that the creators of many of those deities could not think of a god without also thinking that god wanted to be worshipped. What a petty, all-too-human thing for a god to want!
Does what I've just said make any sense to you, or should I fetch myself more coffee and re-think it some?
In regards to this poem...did god really create man in his own image? What a concept of god.
ReplyDeleteI quite agree!
